2 day visit in NYC- info needd about hotel and sight seeing

Dear All,

I plan to visit NYC in Jun with parents for 2.5 days . Can you suggest me which hotel do i stay so thats its good,affordable(approx $150/night) and close to Manhattan and 6-7 of the main sight seeing spots and can be reached easily through public transport ?

Since you say you%26#39;re looking for a hotel ';close to Manhattan,'; does that mean that you%26#39;re interested in staying outside of Manhattan, like in New Jersey? If so, poster BroadwayNYC has put together a great page about staying in NJ. It%26#39;s here:

The main sightseeing area is Manhattan itself; the major attractions are scattered across the island, with some uptown (the Met, AMNH, Central Park), some in Midtown (Times Square and Broadway shows, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick%26#39;s, the United Nations, MoMA), and some downtown (the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the World Trade Center site, the Brooklyn Bridge). Almost every hotel in Manhattan is close to subway connections.
