NYC in Nov/Dec

You can do the same things in Nov/Dec as any other time of the year, almost.

You%26#39;ll be able to see Christmas lights and decorations and be able to wear your new winter coat.

What are your likes, museums, theater, musical performances, touring, fine dining and what type of food?

Without some help from you, difficult to suggest any activities for you, fair enough?

Thanks for getting back to me so quick Poppa. I would like to see a show but cant find any website that will show you what is on so far in advance. I would also like to go for dinner. I heard of a revolving restaurant that has great cocktails do you know it?

Have you been here before? If not, here is my personal Things-Every-Visitor-Must-Do list:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Empire State Building or Top of the Rock

The American Museum of Natural History

Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island (or even just seeing the statue from the Staten Island Ferry)

Museum of Modern Art

Times Square

Broadway show

Walk across Brooklyn Bridge

Central Park

Grand Central Terminal

Explore Greenwich Village, SoHo, and Chinatown

Shopping--Fifth Avenue, SoHo, Macy%26#39;s, Bloomingdale%26#39;s

The United Nations

Eating at any of the hundreds of great mid-range restaurants in the city, and at least one blow-out top-notch dinner

Poster QueensBoulevard has a terrific guide for first-time visitors. If you search for ';spiel for first timers'; in the box above, you%26#39;ll find it.

The only revolving restaurant in town is The View in the Marriott Marquis. It%26#39;s a fine place to go for drinks, but the food is mediocre--I wouldn%26#39;t plan on eating here.

For a special meal with a view, you might try River Cafe, which combines a stunning lookout on Manhattan with great food and terrific service. If you put ';River Cafe'; into the search box at the top of the screen you%26#39;ll see pages of people raving about it.

As for what shows are on, we%26#39;re still a while away yet, but you can count on almost all of the big-ticket shows being on when you%26#39;re here. Check www.playbill.com for more info

nmcq - the listings for shows at that time of year will most likely be listed after July. Be patient and use theatermania.com or broadwaybox.com to secure your tickets.

Or TICKETMASTER for first run shows.

I%26#39;m not familiar with the revolving restaurant - I%26#39;m sure my esteemed colleagurs will be able to help you.

Have fun and if you have any more questions - let the Forum know.
