Trip report--great trip to NYC!

Just returned from a 4-day weekend in NYC--our first trip there. It was fantastic! Very easy to get around using subways, which I was a little apprehensive about. Stayed at the Westin Times Square--very nice and great location. Walked ALOT and saw Top of the Rock, Ellis Island, Ground Zero, Central Park, Madame Tussaud%26#39;s (my kids%26#39; choice), ate at some great local restaurants (Becco and John%26#39;s Pizzeria), saw Hairspray and The Producers, and had a wonderful time. I have to thank the person who posted the explicit directions as to how to get to Ellis Island by way of the New Jersey side. What a time saver and we got a great view of the city from NJ! The only problem was that we went through the AMEX bldg and walked to the dock to the right but when we got there, no one seemed to know about the Little Lady ferry to NJ. So we walked all the way to Battery Park and saw the line and decided to take the PATH over to NJ and eventully found the Little Lady coming back. It left from the same dock we were at! So, if anyone wants to take this route, turn to the right along the waterfront and go to the white covered dock and look for the little yellow ferry boat. It will come and you will be happy you did this. There was no line whatsoever in NJ, but the line at Battery Park went as far as we could see! So thanks for all the advice--can%26#39;t wait to go back!

Sounds like fun.

That ferry sounds like a time saver, thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for the happy recap! How old are your kids?

Hi Teamom,

Your info about the Little Lady ferry in NJ is really interesting (we are in NY at the moment)

Could you be a little more specific on how to find it in NJ? Do we get the PATH to Exchange Place station?

how do we get to the ferry from here? I%26#39;ve got access to GoogleEarth etc but am still confused! Is it a long walk? does the ferry stop at Ellis Island andthen go to WFC in Manhattan.I%26#39;m really unsure even after looking at a number of websites!

Thanks Hugh (macsurfer)
