Must sees and do's in NYC

Okay,

I have been to NYC 2ce before for only 12 hours each time (bus trip) I have done or seen the following:

Top of the Rock

Times Square

Broadway

WTC Site

Macy%26#39;s

Battery Park

I%26#39;m coming again for 2 1/2 days. I have Broadway tickets, Julliard tickets, and I want to go to South Seaport, and Ellis Island.

What other things are NYC musts?

Must sees and do's in NYC

I would go to Brooklyn Heights, walk the Promenade and then walk back to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge - a must, IMHO. You could go to the Seaport afterwards.

How about a museum? Any interest?

I would highly recommend visiting Greenwich Village/Soho /Lower East side or any of our great neighborhoods.

With only 2-1/2 days your time is limited, so good planning is essential. Ellis Island will take some time so bear that in mind.

You already have tickets, always recommend theatre or some live venue in NYC.

Have a great time.

With only 2.5 days - you have limited time - I agree with NYCGirl, Greenwich Village would be a good experience for you.

Ellis Island would take up a few hours and I would stay away from SSS as it is a bit kitchy, touristy, commercial.

How about shopping - Macy%26#39;s, Bloomies good way to people watch.

Whatever you choose to do, have fun.

The South street seaport is mostly a shopping and eating mall for tourists. Unless you%26#39;re going to the Bodies Exhibit, I don%26#39;t know why you%26#39;d want to go there on such a short visit. But that just proves that one man%26#39;s ';must see'; is another%26#39;s ';must miss.'; Depending on when you%26#39;re coming, you could get a water taxi from there though, go 1 stop to Fulton St. in Brooklyn, walk the promenade, have some Grimaldi%26#39;s pizza and then walk back to Manhattan as NYCgirl suggests.

To get to Ellis Island from Manhattan, you must take the same boat from downtown that first stops at the Statue of Liberty. It%26#39;s a time consuming visit. There%26#39;s also a former park ranger that does a tour.

If you want to get to see/do the highlights, why not take an overview tour?

In addition to the very good suggestions offered so far, you might think about taking a tour of the United Nations headquarters--it%26#39;s a very interesting experience that many people overlook. More info here:

We really enjoyed St Patricks cathedral, Trinity Church and St Pauls church. I%26#39;m so glad we decided to see them and skip the seaport. the memorial is so emotional. We enjoyed seeing the SOL from the staten island ferry. We were close enough and only takes about an hour if you%26#39;re pressed for time

When I go back, I will definitely visit the Metropoliton Museum of Art and Central Park again. Two of my favorite places!!!
