Here%26#39;s a very educational article form the current issue called ';20 dirty secrets';...

20 dirty secrets of Broadway

#18 Playbill restaurant recs are fixed.

uh, huh.....

TG - there%26#39;s gambling in the casino? I%26#39;m shocked!

9 - Orchestras sometimes fake it.

Remember that sweet violin solo that made you weep? It could have been a Casio keyboard. To cut costs, producers are increasingly relying on sophisticated computer-simulated instruments to give the orchestra pit a fuller sound (the national tour of Wonderful Town had a computer technician in the pit).

Actually, the producers are using computers that sort of sound like instruments to save money and cut musicians. They feel that patrons won%26#39;t know the difference between a keyboard and real instruments.

Good advice about premium seats. Got to disagree with #20, see the show within the first year. Shows like Wicked give the leads fixed contracts (usually 6-9 months) to keep up the energy.
