Gotham Holiday

Hi,

Has anybody dealt or stayed with the people that own the rental apartments from Gotham Holiday?

We are planning to stay at their Gramercy Park loft, but would like some feed back before we commit to staying.

Cheers,

Hi SunKIssed

4 of us stayed at the Gramercy Park loft in December 2006 - for New Years 2 adults with our 2 teenage daughters. The flat was fine and we we very happy overall.

Pros: Not pristine, but neat, clean and cosy. Loft bed comfy. Good size bathroom with good hot water, constant internet access, great location subway, buses, taxis v. convenient, but street is relatively quiet for such a central location. We felt safe and even let our daughters go to and from the falt alone. Good security at door. Neighbourhood is not touristy, so it felt more like staying with relatives.

Cons: Loft bed a little awkward to reach via ladder esp. at night in dark. Kitchen a bit awkward to use, but everything works (freezer was dodgy then, but fixed by now). Fold out bed comfy for 1, inflatable mattress okay for 1.

Food: Great bagels 10 mins away on 1st Ave. Great Mexican on Park St - pricey but fantastic food. Soul Food near Madison Square was lovely. Health food store near building entrance is good for a quick healthy take-away.

Convenient: we walked everywhere easily. Subway was easy to navigate and safe, if a bit grimey. Supermarkets nearby good. Gramercy Park area east of the buidling is a lovely place to walk.

Owner Liezl greeted us and gave us lots of recommendations. The building%26#39;s hot water gave out and even though it was not their fault, Liezl recompensed us.

It was a great place to stay and because New York hotel prices increased by 30% for New Years, it was a reasonable price.

Hope this helps you - Stathis Family

Thanks heaps for the advice!

I have emailed them, but it looks like the apartment can only accommodate 4 people. There are five of us travelling together.

So back to the drawing board for our apt searches.

Cheers,
