upscale NYC restaurant with music etc

Hi, I want to go to an upscale NYC restaurant where I can wear a cocktail dress and enjoy some music after dinner. All I can think of is the Rainbow Room, however, I am sure there are other places that I don%26#39;t know about. Can anyone help me. Thanks. Kathy

One if By Land Two if By Sea has a reputation for romance and has a nice pianist. The food had gone downhill some, but they%26#39;ve gotten a new chef (haven%26#39;t heard any reviews though).

The River Cafe would work too. They have a pianist.

The other option is have a nice dinner (Daniel, Jean Georges etc.) and then go to hear music elsewhere. The Bemelman%26#39;s bar at the Carlyle hotel is one of the best bars in NYC with great music.
