Hi

Hope someone can help..am hoping to go to new york for st patricks day next year!I know am planning early but want to see what my options are. I want to stay central so i can get to parade etc and also during my stay see the sites and of course go shopping..Have looked at a few hotels but since my first trip to new york wld like some advice on where is best to stay..

We were just there for St Patricks Day 2007 and I honestly don%26#39;t think it will make a bit of difference where you%26#39;re staying. If you%26#39;re after seeing the parade it runs the length of 5th Ave (although we watched from the quieter streets - 69th-ish). This is also where the parade ends though so the bars were mobbed.

Since it%26#39;s your first trip you might want to stay somewhere midtown, the best thing you can do is stay close to a subway line. Then you%26#39;re free to roam the island the whole trip.

Thanks for info..have no idea where to stay yet thats the main thing as i want to be central to do most things...and also somewhere safe...any ideas on hotels etc...3 or 4 star i wil prefer

Since you%26#39;re getting in early, I%26#39;d recommend you book radio city apartments. It%26#39;s just off times square and close to 3 out of 4 of the subway lines. Nice desk staff and a kitchenette in your room. It%26#39;s also seriously cheap and books up really quickly.

With this much notice you%26#39;re in with a chance of getting a room. It%26#39;s not such a bad idea to book it anyway since it only needs a credit card to reserve your room and you can pay on arrival.
