Leaving on Tuesday..

Hi,

We%26#39;re leaving on Tuesday and get in to JFK at 11am. We%26#39;ll be staying for 7 full days so will hopefully be able to see a lot. This is our 1st time in New York

I have a 7 Day New York Pass so I can get most of the stuff on here for free.

These are the things that I want to fit in. If you feel I%26#39;ve missed anything out let me know.

Circleline Sightseeing Cruise

Walk across Brooklyn Bridge

Central Park

Big Apple Greeter (Got one - YAY!!!)

Big Apple Helicopter Flight (Already booked)

Times Square

Shopping on 5th Ave

Bronx Zoo

Staten Island Ferry

Metropolitan Museum of Art AND/OR Moma

Intrepid Sea, Air %26amp; Space Museum

Little Italy / SoHo

Grand Central Terminal??? (Is it good?)

Madame Tussauds (Maybe??)

American Museum Of Natural History

New York City Fire Museum

Wall Street

New York Aquarium (Worth seeing?)

Thanks for any help.

Leaving on Tuesday..

That%26#39;s an awful lot. Try not to get caught up in trying to see all the famous attractions, or you%26#39;ll miss the ';real'; New York, which can be found as you explore the neighborhoods, discovering your own hidden gems.

By the way, the Intrepid is closed for repairs.

Leaving on Tuesday..

You can forget the Intrepid bit. It has left for a re fit.

Your going to need a holiday to recover from doing all that you have planned LOL. We leave on wednesday can%26#39;t wait.

USS Intrepid is in dry dock in NJ for repairs, cross it off your list.

The aquarium is nice but will require a trip to Coney Island. If you choose to do that then add Brighton Beach as well, a very interesting Russian neighborhood adjacent to Coney Island, with the subway to get back to the city elevated on Brighton Beach Avenue.

I would head to Brooklyn Heights, walk the Promenade, and then walk back over the Brooklyn Bridge - fantastic.

Glad you got a greeter - where are they taking you?

All in all, sounds like a good plan, have a wonderful trip, and let us know how it went.

The Bronx Zoo is wonderful and one of the best in the U.S. But, you should consider that it may require a substantial part of one day, easily 4 1/2 to 5 hours plus travel time.

Blimey that was quick..

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. We selected Greeters choice but have been told to phone them as soon as we get to the hotel to talk about where we want to explore.

We%26#39;re leaving tuesday too......have you packed yet??

Have a great time...may see you there!!!

You too Ann,have a great time!!!!!

Mind you,we are leaving behind this glorious weather for not so good weather....but who cares...not me!!!!

Yeah I can%26#39;t wait even though I%26#39;m told it%26#39;ll be FREEZING. Where are you leaving from? Heathrow?

Where is everyone staying? Were staying at the Salisbury. I%26#39;m still debating whether to pack jumpers or long sleeve cotton tops. Oh well whatever it is like I can always buy new stuff there. Have a good time everyone.

The Pod Hotel on 51st Street so near to all the main things and even better a subway station that I plan to use a lot!! T Shirts will do me. lol.

I just looked at the Pod hotel, wow it is Pod like. The rooms look soooooooo small. Certainly not enough room to swing a cat. Unless you like to hear it going meow bang, meow bang. The ASPCA would be on to you in no time. LOL
