Honeymoon in New York

Hi Everyone

We are coming to New york for our Honeymoon from 27th December - 3rd January. We are thinking about staying at the Hilton NewYork. How far is this hotel from Times Square? and if anyone has any other suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The Hilton is at Sixth Avenue and 53rd Street, while Times Square is located where Seventh Avenue and Broadway corss, between 43rd and 47th Streets. I assume you are asking because you want to see it on some night OTHERr than New Year%26#39;s Eve, right?

Yeah just want to be near it however we did want to go to Times Square on New years eve. Do you need tickets or is it best not to go there?

Also how long would it take to walk from Hilton New York to Times square.

Thanks

Here are some websites to help you

Everything you would want to know about NYE in TS

for travel and distance from point a to point b

It%26#39;s a 5 minute walk from NY Hilton to TS but on NYE you won%26#39;t be able to get close to it. There%26#39;s also a Hilton Times Square that would be closer.

I%26#39;m pretty certain they%26#39;re already booked up, but if you want to actually be in Times Square for New Years Eve, why not try one of the following so you can always use the ';my hotel is right there'; excuse (I%26#39;m not sure if you meant the Hilton Times Square above, if so, you%26#39;re already there):

Marriot Marquis, The W Times Square or the Westin Times Square?

Personally, I%26#39;ve never gone down to Times Square on New Years Eve, usually stick close to my neighborhood with friends or go away. From my understanding, they pen you in HOURS before and no bathroom facilities for that long period. And, if you plan on toasting the New Year with some bubbly, forget it, the NYPD is in every pen and no alcohol is allowed.

Definitely visit the website the other poster suggested before you make your plans to join in the crowd.

I know that Blue Fin restaurant (located at the W Restaurant) has a late dinner seating, prix fix where you can get views from above and watch it from the comfort (and warmth!) of a nice restaurant. The website for Blue Fin is brguestrestaurants.com/restaurants/鈥ndex.php It books fast (we tried one year and couldn%26#39;t get in) so may be prudent to book early.

Thanks very much for all your comments. Probably best to stay away from Times Square on NYE! but I will have a look at the other hotels.

Thanks again

The general opinion is that you must be mad to celebrate in Times Square. And yet, every now and then someone reports that it was worth the effort. Still, not only would I avoid the area on new year%26#39;s eve, I wouldn%26#39;t recommend even staying near the area at all. Much too touristy.

What%26#39;s your approximate budget for hotel?

Aprox budget is $400 Per night
