Good Eats Downtown Buffalo?

Hi there,

We are staying at the Doubletree (125 High Street). We are looking for a place for dinner, any cusine okay as long as it%26#39;s reasonably priced (under $20/entree) and maybe a good beer/drink menu. We are okay with anything up to 15 minute walking distance from the hotel.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

For great food and atmosphere, try Gabriels Gate on Allen. Walk down High to Main Street, quick left and the next street is Allen walk right and its down a block. Great food from sandwiches to entrees and very reasonable price. Just a few steps from Gabriels is the Towne Restaurant, classic greek if in a breakfast mood. Be careful on your walks and use common sense. The Double Tree is in the Medical corridor area which is a bit transitional. Allentown is a great area but with no shortage of characters so to speak. You will be fine.....enjoy.

I work at Roswell Park, which connects to the DoubleTree. Buffalonian%26#39;s dinner suggestions are very good. I%26#39;d just add that if you%26#39;re pressed for time and want something for lunch, Au Bon Pain in the DoubleTree has very good salads, sandwiches, and soups.

Thanks for the advice so far!

Some one mentioned the Anchor Bar on Main Street. Is this walkable from our hotel? There will be three of us in a group so hopefully we will be fine.

Also, we will be going to the SoundLab on Pearl Street...is this walkable from the hotel or is it better to take a cab?

In sure Pastiche will confirm that the Anchor Bar is great for a drink and wings...top 3 wings in Buffalo and very close to your hotel. Not a comprehensive place for dinner but get some wings...even just to back to TO....
