This B%26amp;B is in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. It is a rather diverse neighborhood, with a strong Orthodox Jewish population. There are a number of ethnic restaurants, as well as abundant shopping areas (but not too upscale). This area is not a “destination” of tourists, but if you are into having a genuine experience in a Brooklyn neighborhood, then this may be your ticket. It is probably at least a 30-40 minute subway ride into midtown Manhattan from this part of Brooklyn. You are ideally situated in close proximity to Coney Island, Park Slope, Bensonhurst, and Prospect Park if you wish to explore other parts of the borough.

In terms of credit cards, most B%26amp;B establishments do not accept them and based on their web site, it does not appear that they do either. I would contact the innkeeper directly in regard to this question, as they probably answer it rather frequently and would get you an answer on which your booking might depend. I would also ask if they are able to provide parking (most do not), as they most likely can recommend a garage if it isn’t available on-site. Street parking would not be recommended in this area, simply owing to the fact that NYC has alternate side of the street parking, so you would have to move your car every other day during your trip or face steep parking tickets. Parking in this area will be very congested. Their contact is listed as Tel: (718) 421-1052 or email suzieboo@aol.com; web site www.bbonline.com/ny/dekoven/index.html.
