1) There are no trains over there. The furthest west that any subway runs is Eighth Avenue, and the Javits Center faces Eleventh. However, there are buses that go right to the door: the M34 that runs across 34th Street, and the M 42 that runs across 42nd Street. You can transfer from subway to bus for free on your MetroCard.

2) Street parking in that neighborhood is next to impossible. The price you mention for a lot is pretty good; I would do that.

NO trains near it. Best way to get there is on public transportation is the crosstown bus. Both the crosstown bus on 34th %26amp; 42 st go right to Javits Center.

For parking, I think you underestimate with $20 but it does depend on how long you stay.

There should be cheaper places than at the center along 10th ave. %26amp; 11th ave.

nycgarages.com shows a place a few blocks away for $12 but there%26#39;s no way to reserve a spot at that place and may be filled. Iconparking.com lets you reserve, but I don%26#39;t see any nearby bargains but you can check maybe in Chelsea.
