Good Local Pizza

Are there any great Pizza places in the Buffalo/Amherst area? e will be staying in Amherst, but are willing to travel up to a half hour. I am from Michigan where were we have several great local pizza parlors. Does the Buffalo area have any great pizza parlors that are not part of the chain restaurant circuit?

Welcome to wonderland! There are many, many great pizza places in Buffalo.

One of our favorites is Just Pizza, which has a huge variety of toppings and crusts. There are several locations in Buffalo/Amherst, including, I think, one on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst. Although I%26#39;ve never been to the Pizza Plant (Main Street or Transit Road in Williamsville/Amherst), our two boys love it, and friends have recommended it highly.

Also highly recommended is a little restaurant called Romeo %26amp; Juliet%26#39;s, which is both a restaurant and pizza parlor on Hertel Ave. in North Buffalo. The owners are from Italy, and so are the recipes. Fantastic crust %26amp; sauce.

Pizza Plant is certainly a unique restaurant. Great Northern Pizza in Williamsville is very good as well. La Nova is a Buffalo tradition especially for wings and pizza...the bbq wings are the best in the country. Main Street in Amherst. My pick for take-ouit is Bocce on Bailey in Amherst. Hands down the best pizza in Buffalo. But I am sure you will get many to reply on this one...

Pizza Update:

We were back in Buffalo this weekend and went to LaNova in Buffalo. We enjoyed it very much. The pizza was very tasty, but the dough did seem a little undercooked for my liking. Could someone respond if that is normal for LaNova? We ended up buying it by the slice, because everyone had different tastes that night. I think I would want to order fresh next time and ask them to cook it a little longer than usual. We will be back, next time to try the wings too. I enjoy going the the local spots to eat. Thanks for the suggestions.
