we%26#39;re looking for some traditional american food. I love a good steak and my boyfriend loves hamburgers. We also like Italian.

Budget? Location?

There are TONS of previous threads on restaurants and dining plus a restaurant hot list sticky at the very top of the page (which is quite long I grant)

Steak restaurants tend to be very pricey, so if you%26#39;re on a budget, some of the best value steak is found at French bistros/brasseries where you can order steak/frites (steak and fries) but won%26#39;t always be able to pick the cut of steak. Balthazar is one of the most popular of this ilk in Manhattan.

Keen%26#39;s is a very good steakhouse (pricey). They have a pub menu that they serve in the bar area that%26#39;s more affordable and I hear their burgers are good. The Shack Shake (outside) is open for the season and considered by many to be the best burgers in the city if not the planet. ;) The Burger Joint in the Park Meridien hotel is another place with great reviews.

Italian is probably the most available food in NYC. Really need either location or budget or kind of Italian to help there.
