ok, ive researched this topic to death and cant come up with any solid info about where the show was actually shot. we are looking for the exterior shots of her apartment on SATC. there seems to be a huge dispute about where it actually is. we know it is not on the upper west side as was said numerous times in the show, but it is indeed somewhere in the village.

we would take the SATC tour, but our time is all taken up for this trip and we wont be able to do it. we just wanted a few photos of it. we%26#39;ll be doing alot of walking in soho / tribeca / the village so we will eventually come across it. TIA fellow SATC fans!!

I know they let you pose on the stoop on the SATC tour but it seems people are too embarrassed when they%26#39;re just there alone! I suppose it depends how quiet the street is? And maybe if you%26#39;ve got the camera set and ready to go so you can make a run for it? Good luck!

I went to Carries place at about 10am on a sunday morning and the neighbourhood was dead, so I stood at the bottom of the stoop for my photo, no worries. The friends building is also nearby if you%26#39;re interested. Bedford st I think it is.

I recently took the SITC tour and we were asked to be quiet and respectful of the neighbors and then it would be no problem to take a picture.

If you make it to the neighborhood, the Magnolia Bakery, where the girls ate cupcakes on the show is right around the corner from Carrie%26#39;s apartment at 401 Bleecker Street. The park across the street from Magnolia Bakery is where they shot scenes of Miranda and her baby. You might remember the scene where Miranda trips and falls when Steve is introducing his new girlfriend.

przyk..... yes just found the place on google maps and realized last month we went to magnolia bakery just for the cupcakes after seeing the girls there, had i been a good SATC student, I would have known those other facts also...duh!!

oh well, just the excuse i needed to go back for more cupcakes!!

The tour really was fun and if I had not taken the tour I would not have known any of this either. I still have visions of the Upper East and West side as I watch the shows, even though I learned a lot of the locations are in and around trhe Village.

Carries address is 245 E. 73rd St., between Park and Madison. However it is actuall filmed in Perry Street in Greenwich Village.

Manolo Blahnik West 54th Street.

Russian Samovar - West 52nd St - Times Square, where Carrie agrees to have a midnight meal with Andre Petrovski, before going on to the art exhibition of the woman sitting on a chair

Slate - West 21st Street. 4th Series, the girls go there to play billiards

O Nieals bar and restaurant (174 Grand Street) - This features a lot as its Steve and Aidens bar in the series, you can go for a drink or food. Casual Smart clothes.

Commune 22nd St - nice restaurant although a very limited menu - sat outside for food. Inside the bar was nice, long with bar stools (my fav) This is where the girls had lunch when samantha was doing PR for the 13 year old girls Barmitzvah and the 13yr old paid for their lunch. I think it also featured in kate and Leopold. Now it appears to be Rocco Dispiritos new restaurant -

Petes Tavern - Speakeasy bar on 18th Street, Pub food and good beer, where Miranda asked Steve to marry her while sitting outside at a table drinking beer form a mug.

Tortilla Flats - Washington Street - fabulous loud bar dead casual, young clientele good mexican food, pitchers of margaritas. Its where Carrie , Miranda Aiden and Steve went for dinner. Its in the meat packing district which is near to Pastis a Keith Mcnally restaurant.

Pastis 12th St and 9th Avenue, You would need to book Pastis for food, not a place to go for drinks as its always rammed. Pastis is where Carrie meets Andre and they chat with his russian friends, while Carrie cant understand a word and finds out he is going to france for a show.

Florent - 69 Gansvoort (same area as Pastis and Tortilla Flats) - Miranda and Tom (Big boned) from weight watchers class go here. I havent been here yet, but am visiting NY tomorrow so I hope to be going on Sunday. It looks like a nice cheap place to eat and has hosted some rowdy drag queen protests.

Meet - 73 Gansvoort, Where Carrie goes for a blind date and gets stood up. A really nice place for drinks

Staten Island Ferry - Go at Dusk to see the views of the Island - This trip featured in the show where Carrie goes to Staten Island to judge a sexy fireman competition and where she meets her politician boyfriend

wow thanks so much for digging that thread out for me!! great info and saved us a good chunk of change that i will now use for sunday brunch at pastis (hard but did manage a spot) unfortunately wont be able to sit outside as carrie did with her new gayhusband the shoe distributor

we attempted to get past the ropes at bungalow 8 last trip, after half hour no luck. think you have to be %26#39;in the know%26#39; to accomplish that. doormen were not at all friendly!!

will locate steves bar for sat night and will do the charlotte drunk dance on the staten island ferry friday lol
