My sister and I are coming to NYC for the first time in May for four days and I have looked at a ton of hotels and just recently started looking at apartment rentals. I have found one through apt168.com and it is at 38th and Park Ave. The pictures look nice but is this a decent neighborhood for two girls (late 20%26#39;s to be staying)?

Apartment Rental - Neighborhood OK?The location is good but I%26#39;ve never heard of this co. Pay attention to details like what floor it%26#39;s on and whether there%26#39;s an elevator. There are lots of apt. scams. Do not pay all upfront and do not wire funds. Wonder why you can%26#39;t find a hotel. Murray Hill East suites, Eastgate Tower and the Shelburne Murray Hill are in this general area. Check prices for these.

I have found hotels in our budget but all the reviews I have found say that most are shoeboxes and if we can have a decent place that we can be more comfortable in - I%26#39;m all for it.
I found the listing on vrbo.com but I guess it is it%26#39;s own company that has a few places... thanks a lot for the tips though. I will definitely keep that in mind.
I have also looked at these properties on the web and would be interested to know what your final decision was. I am a bit reluctant to book in case it is a scam. Did you contact apt168.com and if so what was the outcome? Have you found somewhere else? I would appreciate your comments.
