Struggling to keep my mouth shut!

My husband and I come to NYC every Christmas (8 times and counting) but didn鈥檛 make it at the end of 2006. Back in Jan I booked a 2 night flying visit for the 4th of May as a surprise but I have found it so hard not being able to talk to him about it. Can鈥檛 wait till our anniversary on the 28th when I can finally tell him! It鈥檚 seems a long way to go for 2 nights but I couldn鈥檛 get child care for any longer. It will be worth it. Staying at the Sofitel. Have booked Jean Georges and have tickets for Wicked. Just hope I don鈥檛 slip up over the next 2 weeks. We both have an addiction to the place!

What a great surprise - he%26#39;ll be delighted.

It is worth it. I think that if this was something in your heart to do.I under stand coming a long way for 2 days, but we only live 1 time so if 2 days is all you have make it the best 2 days ever.If you tell him maybe he can come up with an idea to stay longer some how.Best wishes!

good for you! I would rather come for 2 days than not at all! Have fun and good luck keeping it quiet!

Good luck keeping the surprise a secret!

I%26#39;m originally from New York but I live further South now (cost of living) but NY is still my city. When I want a good meal or do some serious shopping I go home. I could undestand your addiction. Have a wonderful time and I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time.

Michelin-star-chick, have you been to NYC in the spring before, or always in December? If you haven%26#39;t, you are in for a treat -- May is one of the prettiest times of the year here!

You%26#39;re doing so well to keep it a secret all of this time! Don%26#39;t blow it with a couple of weeks to go!

You have a very lucky husband there (mine is an unfortunate husband since he%26#39;s letting me return without him later this year!)

I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll both make the most of the little time you have. You%26#39;re right that 2 nights is better than none.

PS. Enjoy Jean Georges! Post back and let us know how it went!

GREENWHITE BLUE - We have only ever been at Christmas - looking forward to seeing the place during May.

ANGE- Tried to book lunch at Jean Georges for the saturday but they aren%26#39;t open for lunch! Had same problem at Gordon Ramsay but eventually booked there for dinner on the night we arrive at 10.30pm!

Do try to go someplace where you can appreciate the green and flowery lusciousness of May. Good choices would be the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the New York Botanical Garden in the Brons, the Conservatory Garden in Central Park at Fifth and 103rd, Rockefeller Park along the Hudson down in Battery Park City, and the Brooklyn Promenade.

... and I almost forgot to mention the Cloisters!!!
