10 year anniversary trip. here i was thinking id have to wait until MY bday trip in july, but seems thats not so.

J/K.....this trip we%26#39;re at courtyard marriott new york / fifth avenue. we have some points to use so got a great deal. looks like an idea location and partner has stayed there on business before.

Here are some guidelines you might find helpful:

Restaurants - self-serve or fast food - no tip required. Sit down restaurant with menu service and waitstaff - 15% tip is the norm. Some restaurants will automatically add the tip to your bill (particularly for large groups) so check the bill before you add a tip

Bellmen, etc. - if you use their services you should pay. In a moderately priced hotel $1/bag. If you don%26#39;t want to pay - carry your bags yourself.

Taxis - depnds upon the service and how far the ride was - any where from a couple of dollars to 10%.
