reasonble palces to eat

I think you need to reread your post as that address doesn%26#39;t exist

reasonble palces to eat

The address is 118 E. 40th, which is between Park-Lexington.

To clarify, the name of the street on which your hotel is located is East 40th Street (the ';East'; -- abbreviated as E. -- is a part of the name, and is VERY important for addresses, but in common conversation it would just be called ';40th Street';.)

The house number (as in Number 10 Downing Street) in this case is number 118.

The cross streets -- SOOOOO important when giving drections, especially on Avenues, which can stretch for seven or eight miles -- are Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue.

The neighborhood is Murray Hill, which is two words.

You could tell a cab driver ';40th Street between Park and Lexington -- the Bedford Hotel, at 118 East 40th.';

And yes, you really should say all that to the driver.

The Black Sheep on 3rd Ave, around 39th has decent pub food. Reasonably priced, decent beer selection as well

You%26#39;re in a great area for food. Just walk over to Lexington Ave. and turn south. There are many neighborhood restaurants on Lexington south of 40th . I work near there and when we go to lunch we often end up on Lexington between 24-33 streets. Examples of good places are Curry Leaf (Indian, at 27th street, Le Petit Auberge (French, 116 Lexington, between 27 %26amp; 28), Turkish Kitchen (386 3rd Ave | Btwn 27th %26amp; 28th St ), Jaiya (Thai, 396 3rd Ave | At 28th St) and much more. If you keep going to 23rd street you can go to Live Bait (between Broadway %26amp; Madison) for a superb catfish sandwhich (it%26#39;s a bar with a restaurant). The streets are very short, it will only take you about 10-15 min to walk from 40th to 23rd.

Your hotel is very near Grand Central Terminal (42 st). For a nice meal, Metrazur. For inexpensive grab a bite, Junior%26#39;s like a deli (famous for their cheesecake) and Two Boots pizza.

For Mexican, El Rio Grande. Asia de Cuba in Morgans hotel is a trendy spot for drinks and appetizers or a dinner. Gets very crowded after work. The Shelburne Murray Hill hotel is not far from yours and has a rooftop bar with nice views. If the weather is good, nice spot to sit. Also inside Grand Central is the Campbell Apartments, another good spot for a drink.

PS., just a few doors down from your hotel is Au Bon Pain, decent place for breakfast, lunch or take away. Sarge%26#39;s deli is also good for breakfast or sandwiches.
